THE ESSENCE OF WORLD POLITICS AND FACTORS OF HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF MANKIND FROM FUNCTIONAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

Modern man found himself in a state of existential confusion, as the key factors in its existence were uncertainty, unpredictability, and hence a sense of danger. Among other things, the reason for the current situation was the mass departure from the fascination with one or another worldview paradigm as true. «Fanatic» knowledge has lost its power, giving way to «pragmatic» impulses, which deprive the conditioned being of existential comfort, putting it in front of the need for a constant struggle for survival. In order to return the grounds for existential peace, that is, the satisfaction of existence as it is, it is obviously necessary to reconsider the key postulates of the worldview. The article presents an example of rethinking the essence of such large-scale phenomena as world politics and international relations in terms of establishing their functional load in the existence of mankind and the existence of the world. The key point of reasoning is the assertion that world politics is a kind of «road map» of human progress, and the trigger for progress is the permanent interaction of globalizing and individualizing principles. In this case, the interaction / counteraction of these two tendencies is mediated by four factors of progress of modern civilization. We are talking about war, trade, technology and technology, religion.
